Abrasives organised around the way you work

Machine-specific shapes and fittings

Choose detail pads for compatible detail sanders, continuous belts for portable belt sanders, round discs for random orbital sanders or rectangular sheets for compatible one-third sheet machines. Each format has its own dimensions and attachment requirements. Hook and loop and clamp fittings are offered on different sheet products, so check the individual option before ordering.

Separate grit grades and pack sizes

Most product families offer 40, 60, 80 and 120 grit. Packs contain one selected grade unless the listing specifically describes an assortment. The assorted glasspaper pack contains coarse, medium and fine sheets together. Pack quantities vary between families, making it useful to compare the number of pads, belts, discs or sheets as well as the price.

Flexible sheets and cut-to-length rolls

For hand preparation and suitable block sanding, choose glasspaper sheets, flexible emery cloth or abrasive rolls. The rolls are 115mm wide, with a five-metre green decorators' format and a one-metre red mini roll. Full-size glasspaper and emery cloth sheets measure 280 × 230mm and can be cut for smaller areas where appropriate.

Find the right abrasive format

Delta and detail pads include 93 × 93mm and 100 × 140mm shapes. Sanding belts are available in 75 × 533mm and 100 × 610mm sizes. Hook and loop discs come in 125mm and 150mm diameters. Orbital sanding sheets measure 93 × 230mm, with separate clamp and hook and loop versions. These dimensions help you identify the relevant family, but the complete machine specification should guide compatibility.

Material and backing also differ across the range. The product pages explain the abrasive, backing and anti-clogging treatment where specified by ProSolve. Use those details to choose a product for the surface and preparation stage, rather than treating all abrasives with the same grit number as interchangeable. Check both the surface suitability and the fitting method before use.

Choose a grit for each preparation stage

A lower grit number gives a coarser abrasive than a higher number. The appropriate starting grade depends on the existing surface, the amount of preparation required and the finish you need. Test a small suitable area, inspect the result and move to a finer grade when the next stage calls for it. Keep different grades separate while working so you can identify the right replacement quickly.

Check quantities before ordering

Use the size, grit and pack selectors on each listing to confirm the exact option. Product photographs show the relevant packaging, while specification tables describe the format and quantity. Sanding equipment is not included with the abrasive consumables. Follow your machine and material instructions, check attachments before use and replace worn or damaged abrasives as needed. Retain the product code for repeat orders so the same size and grade can be selected again.
