French chalk and rail chalk for marking out
Square French chalk sticks
ProSolve French chalk is also known as soapstone or welder's chalk. The square stick measures 100 × 10 × 10mm and leaves a clear, wax-like trace on metal and steel. It can also mark masonry and stone. The square shape is easy to hold and less likely to snap than a flat chalk format.
Hard-wearing white rail chalk
The white rail chalk stick measures 75mm long and 30mm in diameter. It is designed to be hard wearing for marking steel, masonry, roads and stone, including road and rail applications. Choose it for tasks where a permanent mark is not required and markings need to be washed away after the work.
Individual quantities clearly stated
Both chalk products are supplied individually in this collection. The product photograph may show several sticks or an outer box, but the description and specification table state the quantity supplied. This distinction helps when comparing costs and deciding how many sticks to order for your marking-out work.
Choose by the mark you need
French chalk produces a wax-like mark that can be removed easily from non-porous surfaces. Rail chalk offers a substantial stick for hard-wearing marks on larger surfaces. The shape, surface and removal requirements should guide the choice. A small test on the actual material helps establish whether the mark is visible enough and whether it can be removed as required after use.
Check the supplied quantity and colour
Use the individual product title, option selector and specification table to confirm what you are buying. A photograph can illustrate an outer carton or several colours without meaning that all pictured items are included. Check the stated quantity alongside the price when planning supplies for a team, repeated jobs or several work areas.
Keep the product code with your purchasing records so the same format can be selected again. Where colours are offered, choose the colour shown in the selector. Similar-looking products may differ in their formulation, application method or intended surface, so compare the description rather than relying only on the photograph.
Plan the marking task
Decide whether the mark needs to last through handling, remain outdoors or be removed after the work. Follow the instructions for the selected product and the material you are marking. A visible mark on one surface does not guarantee the same appearance or removal behaviour on another. Test suitability where needed before marking the whole workpiece.
For refillable products, check component compatibility and the contents supplied before fitting a replacement part or adding ink. Store and handle each product according to its label. The product page provides the relevant format and application information so you can choose a marking supply that fits the task.
