Lithium grease and spray lubricants
EP2 lithium grease is a multipurpose option for suitable industrial and automotive bearings. The 400g cartridge is designed for plunger-type grease guns and contains additives for load-bearing, anti-wear and corrosion protection. Before changing grease, check compatibility with the product already in the equipment and follow the manufacturer's guidance on the quantity to apply.
Silicone spray provides a clear, non-staining lubricant for a range of suitable surfaces. It is useful where a silicone-based formulation is required and the supplier describes it as not attracting dust or dirt. White grease leaves a visible lubricating film and suits applications such as hinges, bushes and pivot points. Its water-repellent properties make it useful where moisture resistance matters. Chain, gear and wire-rope lubrication
Moving components require a lubricant matched to their design and operating conditions. ProSolve Hi-Pro Lube is formulated for chains and bearings and is designed to reduce lubricant throw-off at speed. Exposed gear and wire lubricant is intended for open gears, wire ropes, steel cables and heavy-duty chains. These products are supplied in aerosols for directed application to suitable components. Graphite penetrating oil is designed to work into rusted, seized or corroded metal components. It combines penetrating action with lubrication and corrosion protection. Select it for the task described on its product page rather than assuming every maintenance spray performs the same function.
Cutting fluid and pipe jointing lubricant
Cutting, drilling and tapping fluid provides lubrication during suitable metalworking operations. The ready-to-use aerosol formulation is designed to dissipate heat and support the surface finish during cutting. Match the fluid to the material, tooling and machine instructions before application.
Pipe jointing lubricant, sometimes searched for as pipe grease, has a separate purpose. The ProSolve 2.5kg product is a ready-to-use, soap-based gel for assembling compatible pipe joints. It is biodegradable and water dispersible. The supplier lists uses including PVC, concrete, steel and fibre-cement pipes. Clean the seal, socket and pipe end and follow the pipe-system instructions for applying lubricant and completing the joint.
