High Visibility Body Warmers for Active Work

A body warmer suits shifts where a full jacket feels restrictive but a polo shirt or sweatshirt does not provide enough insulation. Remove the sleeves for loading, driving, climbing or warehouse work, then attach them when the temperature drops.

Both Pulsar Protect designs have a hi vis outer with reflective tape, a waterproof chest pocket, document pockets, a concealed ID window and a longer back for added coverage. They reverse to a grey padded microfibre lining, although the fluorescent side should remain facing out wherever high visibility clothing is required.

The interactive zip and fastening points allow the body warmers to connect with compatible Pulsar storm coats. This makes them useful as an insulating mid-layer beneath weatherproof outerwear or as a lighter outer garment during dry, cool conditions.

Choosing Yellow or Orange for the Site

The correct colour depends on the employer, industry and site rules. Yellow is widely used across construction, warehousing, utilities and general site work. Orange is often specified for rail and infrastructure work, but colour alone does not confirm that a garment is approved for those environments.

Check the individual product certification against the high-visibility class and any rail standard required by the workplace. Choose a size with enough room for a polo shirt, sweatshirt or fleece underneath without creating a loose fit that could interfere with movement.

FAQs

What is the difference between a body warmer and a hi-vis jacket?

A body warmer insulates the torso while allowing greater freedom around the arms while a full jacket provides more arm coverage and offers better protection from wind and rain.

Are hi vis body warmers waterproof?

Not necessarily. These designs have waterproof zip pockets but that does not mean the entire garment provides full waterproof protection.

Is an orange body warmer automatically suitable for rail work?

No. Orange colour alone does not prove rail compliance. Check that the individual garment carries the certification required by the rail operator.

Can a hi vis body warmer be worn with a storm coat?

Yes. These body warmers are designed to interact with compatible Pulsar storm coats, including the P421, PR499, EVO100 and EVO250.
